About Us

Acute Solutions is a product development company located in New England and founded in 2014. We provide solutions to technical issues while maintaining sensitivity to business needs. Some of these solutions come in the form of completed products and others are in-depth analyses.

Founder Chad Mace obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. Before establishing Acute Solutions, Chad assisted with the launch of glucometers for Abbott Laboratories; he was also instrumental in the design of an automated microbial detection laboratory test platform at Rapid Micro Biosystems. The Razor/Razor Blade business model was instrumental in both companies’ successes. While at Abiomed, Chad developed key pump and LVAD technologies in the Research Department. He later partnered with a longtime colleague and friend to create Resolution Development, a software and turnkey product development company specializing in Mechanical, Electronic, and Software Solutions. There, he ran the R&D group - and in just four years multiple software products and medical devices were launched.

Acute Solutions specializes in generating systems engineering and mechanical design solutions for technical challenges in the areas of mechanisms, optics, lighting, thermal management, high-volume disposables, enclosure designs, fabrication techniques, and design for manufacturing. Acute Solutions is focused on aiding companies with the process of navigating, managing, and mitigating challenges associated with creation and regulation requirements, design control policies, and technical database maintenance and specifications.
